The food is delicious and the drinks are creative. I was skeptical about trying their ginger guacamole (as I couldn't imagine enjoying pieces of shaved ginger in my guac) but it was incredible. I now make my own guacamole this way! The grilled avocado with watermelon salad is fantastic and fresh and I also recommend the Japanese eggplant side dish. As for the drinks, I enjoyed the avocado margarita. But, there are plenty of other drinks that don't feature avocados, if you'd prefer. I myself am not gluten free, but there are nearly unlimited options for people who are. All in all an awesome restaurant!

The short version: Very unique dishes and drinks, all prepared very well. It's also a nice place to go. The ambiance and ambient music is very interesting yet calming. The service is consistent and better than most. It is fairly expensive to get "filled up" although prices are similar to other restaurants/gastro-pubs in this niche (see samples prices below). Tapas portions are often a bit smaller than conventional tapas, which are small to start with. If you come during peek hours, you're stuck paying $10 for parking next door (or a long walk). The Food: The menu ranges from very unique and well-prepared Ceviches, Salads, Gourmet Tacos, Sandwiches along with a USDA Prime Burger, a few very unusual Tapas options, and Seafood. Some restaurants in this category go pretentious with their basic dishes, but this is a bit more down-to-earth. I'd call it "comfort food .. amplified". Lamb Sliders, Short Rib Stuffed Shells, Duck Nachos, Braised Pork Tacos, Seafood Paella -- that sort of thing. What makes it good is the preparation. Amazing sauces, combinations, textures. Everything is unique and tasty at the same time. Unlike so many restaurants in this niche, they don't go "over the top" (you know the type, where the chef is really impressed with himself and yet everything tastes like ... well .. a stomach ache waiting to happen). I don't remember seeing the deserts listed on the menu, make sure to ask your server for the list. Even if you'e counting calories their unique deserts require a sampling. A unique take on Tiramisu and Creme Brulee, Cinnamon White Chocolate Bread Pudding, Avocado Nutella Mousse, etc. Ambiance, Crowd, Drinks: Great place to go at night on a weekend with a fairly loud playlist of ambient music. Looking around you almost expect to see a trendy bar crowd, yet it's a more mature Palm-Beacher crowd than you'll find walking on Clematis. Like the cuisine, the drinks are unique and it seems to be the crowd favorite here. Sample Pricing: Two 5" tacos $13, Prime Burger $16, Guac $12, Ceviche $13-$15, Smallish Salads and Tapas about $12. Entrees, such as Hanger Steak $26. Other: Very attentive, knowledgeable servers, extremely well trained on their dishes. Best of all, they honor all special requests without batting an eye. Special requests at this type of restaurant are generally far more difficult. They have many gluten-free options with servers that can list every one as effortlessly as a list of salad dressings. In summary: If you're either (a) not famished and looking for a big meal, -or- (b) you're not concerned with money -- and finally (c) don't mind dealing with parking .. I highly recommend giving it a try!

We were told by a WPB local to try out the avocado grill. We were pleased with the drink selections- exotic drinks like the avocado margarita and amazing traditional guacamole. Try out the fish tacos(melt in your mouth good) and AMAZING grilled calamari. Definitely on my list of best calamaris. Definitely recommend this place even if it is a tad on the pricey side (you are getting fresh farm to table food).

I had been wanting to try Avocado Grill for a while and when a girlfriend of mine mentioned to head over there for lunch I was jumping for joy! The restaurant has a hipper vibe then most restaurants on Clematis. It's got more of an Atlantic Ave feel to me. I loved the architectural salvage decor and faux grass wall. However the tables are extremely close together. I might not be the tiniest little thing but I'm also not overweight and had a hard time getting into the booth. If someone was next to us it would have been uncomfortable for sure. Thankfully it was empty. Since the place is called Avocado Grill we had to try the guacamole. We decided to start with the ginger guac since it was a random pairing. It was so yummy! I love ginger but if you don't it's not intense. Just a little hint of sweet and spicy tang and when we ran out of chips our server brought out more which was really nice. I liked that they carry local beer and had a Funky Buddha Blueberry Cobbler on tap. I had one of those and my girlfriend had a specialty gin and strawberry cocktail. She was not the biggest fan of her's but they do have a pretty good sized cocktail menu. For lunch we split the mussels and fries and the pulled short rib stuffed shells. OMG!!! Whatever the brown sauce is that comes over the shells is like crack! I dipped the fries in it, left over chips and the french bread that came with the mussels. The meat was delicious and the gorgonzola cream went perfectly with it. It's on the side of the menu for Larger Plates but with only 3 shells and no side I think you would be let down if this was the only thing you ordered. If you are a man with an appetite you have been warned. On to the mussels..... Now they were a large plate!! The portion was great and the garlic butter sauce was pure liquidy heaven. We loved it and I highly recommend it. The fries seemed like an odd side but they were great to dip into the sauce. Our server was very attentive and we were checked in on constantly. Maybe a little too much in my opinion. There was a point when he asked us twice in a row if we were done with a dish and we had barley touched it. There were only 2 other tables with customers so I know he didn't need the table. Maybe he was just a little too eager to help but he was very friendly. I've talked my husband into going there for brunch since I had such a great experience. Can't wait to return.

Let me begin by just saying Wow: we were completely happy with every aspect of our AG experience! My husband and I came for a celebratory dinner the other night & I haven't been able to get AG off the brain!! The evening ambiance was perfect, the green lighting around the bar really set a happy yet relaxing mood, our server was so friendly & attentive. We started with an avocado and lump crab appetizer. I decided to squeeze some lemon juice over it & it set it off! So savory & fresh, you'll want more. If like to come for brunch on my next visit!!

The feel in this restaurant is really neat, it's darkly lit but the color of the lights and modern lighting helps add color and character. The decor is very unique with a kind of South American or European flair. The restrooms are well kept and up to date. The braised pork tacos are amazing, there's a corn salsa on them that accentuates the flavor of the pork nicely without over powering the meat with any overwhelming flavor notes. Not to mention there's plenty of meat here. The traditional ceviche is delicious as well. Served in a lime juice broth. The lime could be the key note here, however the freshness of the fish (particularly the shrimp and the scallop) melded well with the flavor and the lime was also mellowed by the piece of sweet potato served with it, providing a sweet and earthy note rather than solely citrus. The short rib stuffed shells, grilled calamari, and the zucchini flourettes were wonderful as well. My party also was deeply moved by the octopus with the aioli and chorizo. This is by far one of the best prepared octopus I have ever had, meaty and with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The spicy quality of the chorizo blends so well with the elements of this dish, and the aioli tops each bite cleanly. I was so impressed by this restaurant, and I can honestly say it's worth considering for your nights out on the town. Price range is not necessarily low, but the quality of the food is fantastic and well worth it. The food is tapas style so it's a good idea to order a plate for each person and then split it up amongst yourselves so that you have the pleasure of trying as many dishes here as possible!

This place continues to amaze me. The avocado and crab salad, the scallops and quinoa cakes, and the wedge salad is to die for. We dropped by around 3 and there was a band going on and people dancing and you couldn't even move in the place, so we decided to hop around Clematis Street and wait until after 5 to go back. When we came back the maitre d recognized us and said, Oh! you came back to join us again! Michelle, our waiter and bartender at the bar was so punctual and attentive. The food was just spot on. I kept thinking; like most restaurants in West Palm Beach, they come and go and I thought I hope this place is around for a long time. it is a wonderful, wonderful place to have dinner. I can't give it any more stars than 5 but I would give it a 10 if I could. It's just so consistent.

We were hoping for an epic meal today, and we got just that! We ordered a few tapas, each plate better than the last! The food and the service were simply perfect! I recommend the tuna spring rolls and the scallops over quinoa cakes. I can't wait to go back!!

Went there to celebrate my friends birthday on a Sunday fun-day. The eggs Benedict was very well prepared and the service was good. The ambiance and location is probably it's saving grace as there are many other good restaurants nearby. The only complaint was that there was glass in my friend's beer which could have ended in a bad way. However, they were kind enough to comp him his food and drinks. Worth the visit.

The ambiance, service and food at Avocado Grill are top notch. David was our server and he was fantastic. We had the steak and eggs special. Not only was it the Best steak and eggs I've ever had- it was the best meal I ate this week. We also had the grilled avocado, grilled mozzarella and fried zucchini blossoms. Everything about this place is great. They had a live reggae band playing too for lunch. Highly recommend Avocado Grill for a great meal!!

Awesome! This place is so cool and the food is out of this world. If you are in West Palm and you a unique spin on great food this place is a must. We are already planning for a next event to be hosted by Avocado Grill. There octopus was cooked to perfection. The Avocado maregettia made you think you just ate a Mexican dish. The Tuna spring roll was incredible. I am running out of adjectives to describe this place.

Me friend and I wanted to go out for a nice meal while away in West Palm Beach. We found this place and couldn't have been happier. The food was AMAZING and our server was even better. We ordered the grilled avocado, fish tacos, octopus, grilled calamari and the zucchini blossoms...we also ordered the passion fruit tiramisu (that was TO DIE for) Every bite I took was better than the one before. If I lived in the area I would eat here all the time.

Small Plates at Avocada Grill are Delicious!! We had: Grilled avocados (with watermelon & mango cubes) - very good; Jumbo lump crab & avocado -- ok but missing flavor (when you salt/pepper the dish pops); Guacomole = very good, fresh warm chips served with it; Ginger Guacomole = not so good, but if you have a daring palate you might enjoy this combination; Seared Mozzarella with tomatoes, pesto, argula = awesome...would be better with larger tomatoes IMO; Pan Seared Yellowtail Snapper over amazing thick pasta noodles = tremendous, would have eaten 2x as much as they served, so thankfully they give you the right amount to save you the calories - delicious! We look forward to going back to try more menu items, the food comes out fast and fresh and is so good!

I really enjoyed my experience here! The location is a good spot in relation to being near the waterfront. That being said, you may have trouble finding parking. I came here for lunch and was seated quickly, in the outside seating. The outdoor decoration is nice and put me in the mind of a nice outdoor patio dinner with friends and family. I also liked the pastel color scheme. Our waiter, George, came quickly and went through the menu thoughtfully, advised of the daily specials, and what his faves were. I had the Fish Mahi Mahi tacos with fries. Everything tastes great! I also requested the ginger guacamole and it was tasty as well. I think the next time I come, I'll try the indoor dining experience.

I live in Michigan and vacation in WPB at least once a year. This year I visited The Avocado Grill for the first time and I'm in love with the lump crab avocado appetizer. Actually I'm thrilled with every aspect of the restaurant. I've eaten there three times this week and the level of service has been stellar every time.

So we finally made it to brunch yesterday. It was fantastic. Chris and the bar crew were extremely friendly. It seems like every time I eat here the food gets better and better. The quality of food and staff here makes one of my top recommend places to go. Also they have Lagunitas IPA draft....yummy. I also had a Bloody Mary...thumbs up. In closing I would to mention the staff again. They were very nice. I've been to places were we loved the food but the staff was abrasive so we stop going there. So thanks again to Chris and the bar staff for your excellent service.

Really impressed after dinner here on a Saturday night. Great indoor and outdoor seating and large bar area. Had a number of tapas. The ginger guac is awesome. Also had the Iberica ham, Brussels sprouts, mussels, and seafood paella. All exceptionally good fresh food. Drinks were also some of the best original mixers I have had. Our server George was one of the best waiters ever with his knowledge and recommendations. Overall one of the best eats in palm beach.

Great place near Clematis, food was good we were 4 and shared several tapas, the highlights were the lamb sliders, jamon iberico, tuna tartare, and the pork belly buns. The only dish that was underwhelming was the paella, it was too lemony and had zero flavor otherwise. Overall a great place and I would definitely go back

I herd good things about this place, so I wanted to try it out myself. The way this place was decorated was really nice. It brought a feeling of freshness. The hostess sat me at the bar because I just wanted to have a take out order. As the bartender took my order I had a drink well I waited for my food. The wait time for my food was Alittle bit long but Notting serious. My only complaint was the price, this place was abit pricey for what I got. But that won't keep me from comming back because it is down town clematis and the food was really good.

What a great find! The food was fabulous. The best in the area. Totally fresh ...try the whole avocado or the mushrooms with cheese grits! The servers were very attentive and friendly! Thanks David and Victor! We tried lunch and dinner and they were both fantastic!

Price does not match the quality. After spending over $100 for 2 people with a total of 2 glasses of wine and 4 appetizers, we left hungry. Also, the squash hummus tastes like a bowl of garlic. Poor quality control. Too many excellent restaurants in the area that offer better value.

Avocado grill is amazing! I got a glass of Pinot Grigio and it was good. The grilled salmon salad was delicious and our waiter was very attentive! It was lunch time and not too packed to where we were seated right away. Will definitely be back!

Okay off the bat, the customer service WAS AMAZING I had the nicest most helpful waiter and the rest of the staff was polite and helpful. The duck nachos was sooo good. Lamb sliders were good but I was kinda shocked how small they were. It was overall an amazing night

This place is amazing!!! We stumbled upon this place by accident and are so happy we did. It was delicious!! It's right across from the amphitheater and a show was going on which was a bit loud but that didn't stop us from having a wonderful meal. The place was a bit packed so I would recommend a reservation. The food was so great. We just got some appetizer to share, the guacamole was so good, the lump crab meat with avocado, and the squash with Brussel sprouts were also amazing!! If you like avocados you won't be disappointed. We looked around and all the meals looks fantastic, we can't wait to go back and try some more.

It's hit or miss with avocado grill. Some menu items are outstanding while others simply fall flat. I've been here a few times and have had a pretty good sampling of the menu. Winners were the braised pork cheeks, mushroom fricassee, short rib pasta, naughty nico roll, lamb sliders and avocado and lump crab salad. The beet gnocchi, ginger guacamole and duck tacos were the losers due to their lack of flavor or spice. I'm not going to lie- it's pricey for what it is. The markup on their wine list is atrocious. But it's all worth it if you order the right stuff. Service is excellent and they are extremely accommodating. Definitely check it out and form your own opinions!

I've been here for dinner, and now the all important brunch, so I feel qualified to weigh in. I really like Avocado Grill! Great snack size plates, brunch offers mimosa and Bloody Mary specials and sangria by the carafe. Definitely get the titular grilled avocado wedges. It's possible avocado rookies are scared off by the idea of it, but I promise, grilling is a great way to eat avocado. The flavor here was fresh, the texture was creamy with just a touch of grilled crunch on the outside, and the avocado flavor you know and love is amped up by the heat. Brunch offers the usual suspects with a variety of Eggs Benny. We did the veggie one, and the pesto kale patty is truly delicious. I might've cheated and ordered some bacon to eat with it, and it was so great. We also got the build your own omelet, which was packed with goat cheese, mushrooms, peppers, and tomatoes. The service is super friendly and sunny, matching the lovely patio setting. So I guess the only question now is, can I bring my dog to enjoy the patio next time?

This is my first time at this place. Food was ok, it definitely looks better than the taste. We order the portion for the lamb, which only had 3 little bites of lamb, I though it was a bit pricey for the size of meal. I also order a guacamole, it was extremely salty, I thought it was the chips but I tried it without and it was actually the guacamole. The fries were really good. We also ordered the tuna and avocado roll, which came in really late because the waiter forgot about it. The waiter also gave us hard time to divide the bills among 3 parties we had at the table, he refused at first but we insisted and he did it. The atmosphere was amazing! I loved the DJ and the drums! excellent! I will def. come back for drinks and maybe try another appetizer.

Great service at both table and bar area. Great location. Love the atmosphere and ambiance, and the open patio / restaurant feel. Tuna TarTar was amazing the first time I had it, a lot of fresh tuna, however a month later, there was more avocado and apple than tuna. The beet salad was amazing, I would definitely recommend. The Grilled Octopus was good as well! Overall a great experience, however I wish the Tuna TarTar included a bit more tuna :-)

SOOOOOOOO GOOD!!! An amazing experience, service, taste, just amazing! A wonderful place to take a date or friend and share tastes of amazing food. The octopus is amazing, I'm from Hawaii... I know my octopus. On the top of my food experiences!!!! Try the grilled avocado or the zucchini blossoms! Just a wonderful experience.

Majority of menu is tapas style so pretty small but very good food. We got the fish tacos, chicken tacos, pork belly sand. and the guacamole to start. Guacamole was amazing and the pork belly was sweet and crispy, very well done! Atmosphere was laid back but still pretty elegant.. Brought the kids and it was appropriate. Highly recommend!

After looking for happy hour locations, my friend and i came here! Definiely like the farm to table concept. The decor had a beachy green vibe. Love it! We got the avocado margarita and the lychee pear martini. Avocado margarita was a bit salty. The lychee pear martini was smooth. The lamb sliders and the octopus were delicious! The lamb sliders melted in your mouth and the octopus was cooked to perfection. Will definitely return to try other cocktails and food!

Seriously Awesome Service and food. I had a shrimp po boy their about 4 months ago that I still can fondly remember how it tasted. Shame it was a lunch special but that quality goes for all their food.

Something different... Small plates designed to share and get a taste of everything. The sushi was very good and put together in a unique way. Don't miss the guacamole and the tuna tartare was amazing. The sweet potato and coconut mahi was excellent; highly recommend. Skip the beef rib pasta... Didn't quite jive. Favorite dish by far was the Brussels sprouts. Environment was trendy, but inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating near the amphitheater and in view of the intracoastal. The bar scene inside is lively and they have a large assortment of specialty cocktails. Wait staff was very friendly and personable.

Tapas plates which I love so you can really get a great variety of dishes! Sat inside against the wall which had a huge draft so I switched with my husband and he even mentioned how drafty it was. Didn't realize there outside seating along the side ... will definitely sit outside along the side which is more appealing than their front sidewalk. Highlights were definitely the ginger guacamole and beet salad, both were so delicious! Duck tacos were nice although I'm not sure I'd order them again. Tried the pork belly which was really tasty but unfortunately really fatty and a bit gross. Table next to us had ordered the seared scallops...they looked yummy with a really nice sear on them! Will definitely try those next time. Our server Catt was amazing...service was impeccable, she had a great smile, very attentive, and really made our experience more enjoyable!

  • Brenda B.

After a problem in accommodating us with an early reservation and a feeling of disappointment. , our waitress Catt made up for it with her sweetness and exuberance. The food was much better than average. We had ginger guacamole, sushi, brussel sprouts, beet salad and a burger - easily shared. The menu is eclectic and fun. We had the ginger guac as an appetizer with martinis. It was flavorful but perhaps could have used a bit more jalapeno. Everything else too was presented attractively and very satisfactory if not truly memorable. Prices are fair- atmosphere is upbeat. We will definitely be back to try some other very interesting looking dishes. It is a wonderful place for small plates- tapas and has a full and lively bar.

Came here on a Tuesday night around 7, wasn't packed but sure was busy! Decor is so cute and open and fresh though it can seem like a small place. The menu offers a wonderful variety of various "tapas" or small plates as well as large plates, offering gluten free options as well! Our waiter described the tapas as either the perfect size entree or appetizer. We had a MARVELOUS waiter, David, gave amazing suggestions, was polite, super friendly and accommodating, took care of us the entire 2 hours we were there. Knows how to up-sell some drinks hahha but they were delicious!!! Food, service, and location were all outstanding! Cannot wait to go back and try more! My friend and I ordered 2 tapas: grilled avocado wedges with spiced mango and watermelon salad (amazing) and the warm butternut squash with a Brussel sprout salad (also phenomenal). For our entree we split the sweet potato and coconut crusted mahi which was to die for! They were even kind enough to split it for us and bring it out on different plates! For drinks we each had pineapple caipirinhas, being Brazilian I approve!!!! And for dessert the Nutella Avocado mouse, again amazing! And shared a glass of Fernet, which was so good with dessert! Definitely give this place a try! True quality dining in a beautiful location with people happy to be there!

Good food. Unique and plentiful. A little on the high side from a price perspective though. Dining outside was delightful after the manager fixed our very uneven table :) I had an omelette which was great. Grilled avocado was very tasty! Eggs Benedict vegetarian was good as well accordingly to my companions.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit today! The food was excellent, our server was so lovely & the atmosphere is wonderful! Mom's mahi salad was divine & my grilled chicken and pesto salad was amazing!

Restaurant is very nice and it has a nice decor. Food was excellent, but very SMALL portions (each plate is about 12-15), server recommends 2-3 plates per guest or have a large plate (26-35), therefore making it very expensive per person if you have appetite. I gave them 4 star because our server was very un-attentive, it wasn't that busy and he did not have that many tables. In the end, if you are going for good food and try new stuff this is a great place to try. Their menu is very different from the usual.

I went here a few weeks ago and I've been meaning to post a review. Avocado grill was a great experience. The service, food, and atmosphere were all excellent! The 3 of us all order several small plates and just shared everything, which is what I recommend because we wanted everything on the menu! We had the octopus, mussels, pork cheeks, shrimp tempura/ tuna roll, short rib stuffed pasta shells, ginger guacamole, grilled avocado w/ pico de gallo, and butternut squash w/ Gorgonzola. Our favorites were the octopus and the pork cheeks! Everything was amazing and we look forward to going back!

Delicious cute spot in downtown west palm! Definitely order the guacamole, curried cauliflower and the eggplant dish. There were loads of other tasty sounding options and I wish I could have ordered more. Only thing that wasn't super memorable was the avocado and tuna spring roll.

New restaurant in WPB. I have been there twice in their first week open. Love the concept. Farm to table, local and fresh. Small plates great for sharing. Wonderful staff and management. Can't wait to check out their brunch this weekend. Outdoor seating and dog friendly too!

This is a hard review....the food is good. Nothing was bad but nothing was quite what I expected or how it was described. The butternut squash and Brussel salad was primarily cauliflower (huh?). The ceviche was mostly pre-cooked seafood and not so much ceviche. The 2 tacos were miniature- 2 bite. The portions and the prices did NOT match. The tuna spring roll was 1 spring roll. $13 for 2 2bite tacos? El Camino in Delray has more flavorful tacos and it's an entire meal for $13. I guess if you skip the small plates (which is 80% of the menu) and go to the large plates, you're better off. I miss the previous restaurant that was here called Barrel and Grain. Sorry they didn't make it.

Avocado Grill is a nice alternative to a lot of the restaurants at City Place and a solid addition to the downtown West Palm Beach scene. A great place to go if you are looking for some tapas in a casual atmosphere. The cocktail selection was nice, including skinny mojitos. The lamb sliders were a standout for us and we also liked the duck tacos, octopus, and zucchini blossom stuffed with goat cheese. Could have lived without the pork cheeks and pork buns. I agree with some of the comments on spice... The pork buns, octopus and duck tacos could have used a little more zing. Will have to try some sushi rolls and the short rib pasta next time. The 4 stars is because I think they could kick up the service and food an extra notch. (We had to call someone over when we were ready to order, for example.) Compared to places like Buccan, Meat Market and Pistache, this isn't 5 stars for me yet.

The two times i've been here i've had such divisive dishes...the mushroom fricassee was unbelievable but the mojito was crap...the guacamole was so-so but the lamb burger was out of this world...for a restaurant that apparently prides itself on avocado-based dishes and tropical flair, i'm disappointed, but without that perspective I think it's alright and i'd go back again.

Absolutely amazing; super busy but so worth the wait!! We had a movie to catch, and the waiter and staff were soo on point so we could make it on a full tummy. Tapas tapas tapas!!! 3 plates/ person is enough!! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious!! Empanada, octopus, lamb, burgers and the truffle fries was gone before we knew it!!!

Walked by the night before and was intrigued. Called with about an hour notice and got a table for 2 on a Sunday night. We arrived around 7:30 and saw that the bar and indoor tables were filled with bottomless brunchers still hanging around, having a lot of fun but making a lot of noise. Not ideal for a dinner with my Mom. Luckily, they had a table on the patio to the side of the restaurant. Cute decor; lots of bright green, comfortable yet modern. Service was mixed. Our waiter seemed a bit rushed and I almost felt like he thought we were a waste of his time from the beginning. However, bussers and food runners were very nice and attentive! Great menu! We had a lot of trouble deciding what to order because everything sounded amazing. Ended up ordering a special lamb egg-roll type dish, tuna tartare, butternut squash and brussels sprouts, and duck tacos. All were excellent! The favorites of the night were the tuna and the vegetables. Wish I could go back to try out the rest of the menu- sushi especially, the rolls passing by the table looked awesome! But I'll have to wait for my next visit to Florida.

For background, I never give five stars because, as my old teacher used to say, there's always room for improvement. However, this restaurant was pretty close insofar as it hit every note from service to food to ambience. Definitely check it out as its one of the most refreshing restaurants in the West Palm/Palm Beach scene for some time. The best thing on the menu was the lamb sliders which this humble guest could've easily eaten three or four of those and called it an evening. They were perfectly cooked medium, feta spread, and a soft, pillowy bun that was just awesome. We also had the avocado tuna spring roll, pork cheek over grits, pork belly buns, burger split three ways, tuna sushi roll, and duck tacos. The duck tacos were bland and needed some heat, texture, and vibrance and would recommend blanching some julienned jalapenos or using thicker pickled red onions, both for color. The pork belly buns overall were flavorful though I would use shredded cabbage instead of chopped lettuce which spilled out of the Chinese buns tableside once the bottom split; using shredded cabbage, however, once the bottom breaks, the shredded cabbage is easier to hold when the Chinese bun becomes more of a sandwich than a pouch. Further I would look to put the hoisin sauce on top of the crispy pork belly then speckle it with chive or flat leaf parsley finely chopped for color against the dark hoisin sauce. By putting the hoisin sauce on the bun first, it erodes the bun's infrastructure and makes it easily split once it gets tableside. They serve a not often found IPA from Cigar City which was just perfect with the seafood offerings and a Hot as Helle brand blonde ale by the same awesome brewery. Skip the other beer offering as they are a bit tired and boring and could use a much better list of killer beers: Lagunitas, Green Flash, Abita, Fat Tire and definitely some Northeast offerings (Brooklyn Lager, Curious Traveler, Trillium, Mystic) because, let's face it, snow birds dominate the restaurants during high season. Last but certainly not least, the service couldn't have been more attentive, friendly, and helpful in the recommendations. Thank you for a wonderful evening and keep up the great work.

New place, service is great and surprising fast on a busy Thursday. I would recommend RSVP, it's a smaller sized restaurant so make one of you can. There are different varieties of food and we were not disappointed with anyone of them, but the portions are small. Prices are a little high for portion but matches it's tastes buds. Highly recommend to try it out.

We had a wonderful meal, even in the midst of sunfest the food was delicious and the service was outstanding. The chef does a great job at providing a variety or creative and flavorful dishes! We will definitely be back soon! Must try the mushroom and grits and the ginger guacamole was a new twist that blew me away!

We were excited to check this place out because we were hearing great things around town. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The service was extremely slow and the menu was very over priced for the food that you get. We had to cancel our raw oysters order because it took over an hour to get. RAW oysters. Will not be going back, there are way too many other choices off Clematis.

I would defiantly go back to this place. Amazing menu, atmosphere, and staff. Beautiful preparations of fun ingredients, include in many cases avocado. I had the oysters, which where fresh clean and perfect. Then the pork cheeks. This is a must have. The hanger steak was the main course which was cooked perfectly season well, and served quickly after the appetizer course. A must have desert is the avocado Nutella mousse. Go here...have fun, bring your friends.

The food at this place is excellent. I've had lunch and dinner here a number of times, and the Ginger Guac, Lamb Sliders and Chicken Paillard salad stand out. The specials are also frequently excellent. The brunch scene is really fun. The D.J. and bongo drum make it lively, but it is not over the top. The Avocado & Crab toast is unique and excellent. I will be back (many times, I suspect).

Loved it very cool atmosphere and great service! I took my mother there and we had an amazing time paired with stellar food. We started our night out with the tuna avocado egg rolls, I would recommend anyone to try these I will go back just to eat that. Then shared the pork bellies, perfectly cooked with a demure but distinct flavor, very tasty. And ended the night with the Nutella and avocado moose, I literally died inside it was magically delicious! Great restaurant!

The atmosphere in the Avocado grill is great. They have a rustic but hip vibe. The bar is well stocked and my bartender was able to quickly whip up a sangria for me even though it wasn't on the menu. The menu was awesome, most dishes are small plates, tapas style, but there are global influences throughout. I love food, but my eyes are often bigger than my stomach so tapas style dining is great for me. There were many fresh, healthy, and organic choices on the menu. I tried the seared scallops with quinoa parm cakes which were intriguing and delicious! The scallops were PERFECTLY seared with a light and pillowy texture. It was served with a vibrant but not over-powering red sauce. The quinoa parm cakes were outstanding. The quinoa had taken in a creamy and smooth texture similar to maybe a risotto. My companion had the confit chicken tacos which were also reported to be very yummy. The service at the bar was okay, she was pretty busy and I was pretty engulfed in conversation. I'd definitely go back.

As always, we love this place. I stay away from Sunday's since they're starting to get the Wine Dive shit show crowd. But Monday lunch is more my style. Great atmosphere. Solid menu and taste food. But finally I have to bring up the same issue i have each time. You've got about a solid real minute to greet the table and at least say you'll be right back. That's a long time to wait outside at a warm table without even a water. I moved inside just to be acknowledged and restart the table. From then on, it was good. Very unobtrusive server, which I appreciate. Why you have no bbq sauce, I'll never understand. Noticed the manager being involved with servers and tables, not just hiding out somewhere. Chicken sandwich was good. Steak sandwich was well setup. The steak was quality but maybe the wrong cut. Very chewy and too much sinew. A good citrus marinade could help that. All in all, a beautiful restaurant night and day. Will be back soon again.

Terrible customer service. I ordered three items for takeout over the phone. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was told that one of my items--fish tacos--was not available outside of lunch hours. She should not have confirmed the order if she was not going to make my food. My sick father was severely inconvenienced by my returning home without his fish tacos.

Was hearing so much hype about this place and found it greatly disappointing especially because we traveled from A few towns over to check it out. No clue what all this fuss is about. The tapas menu is interesting but waaaaaay overpriced. The prices are simply ridiculous. Our server was very harried and overall it was a mediocre experience at best. Definitely won't be back.

Great place!!!! I need to try more things on the menu- but I love lamb sliders, beet salad, the octopus salad, and many other things. I would like to try the sushi rolls, which I have heard are amazing. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because the salmon salad was more salmon than salad and I love greens when I order a salad. I probably should have just asked for more greens and problem solved. Julien Gremaud is a great chef and very creative! That's talent.

finally!!!!!! so many places have opened and closed in this location and couldnt get it right, the last place that was here that was successful and had a great atmosphere was spotos and that was a long time. downtown has been rooting for something to open here and the owners of ag have created it!!!! thank you!!!! the menu is very diverse and so much to choose from my favorites are the lamb sliders and tres amigos sushi roll, i cant get enough of them! the bar is my favorite its just a great place to sit and have a drink with great views. just happy that ag knew exactly what the downtown needed! thank you from your local downtown resident.

The guacamole and avocado wedges were flavorless, the tuna spring rolls were terrible and the crab was drowning in tarragon. The service was great but the bar service could not have been any slower. We had 2 rounds of appetizers before we received our drinks. The scallops were good but desperately overpriced. I will not be back.

I can't say enough good things about my experience at Avocado Grill. The food was fresh, flavorful, and Chef Julien does a great job of letting the ingredients shine without complicating his dishes. My favorite dishes were the braised short ribs and gnocchi and the shrimp and grits (which was a special.) The lobster tacos were also very simple, clean, and delicious. Friendly staff, nice ambience, would recommend it to anyone visiting the West Palm beach area.

My visit to Avocado Grill was awesome! The place is small and cozy, and they play really cool old school reggae that makes it feel super relaxed. The menu offers so many delicious choices that it's tough to pick! The grilled calamari is perfect, the seafood "paella" was amazing and covered in a dark and delicious squid ink. I was also impressed by their wine list; I got three whites by the glass to pair with different small plates and they were all great. Our server, Daniel, was just as good as the food. This place is amazing and totally exceeded my expectations.

Of the restaurants we tried during our West Palm Beach stay, we enjoyed the Avocado Grill's food the best. We went there for lunch one day without any expectations. We found a diverse and light menu (which is a good thing), a nice cozy atmosphere and friendly servers. The decor is pleasant, especially the ceiling fans. Despite the restaurant not being very crowded for our lunch, the food took quite a while. The cooking area is open and we could see that there were 4 cooks, and maybe 15-20 guests. We were surprised to wait for about 30 minutes for a simple order. Once we bit in, all was forgiven. The food was amazing. It lives up to its name because the avocado was fresh, tasty and a great complement to our dishes. The slow food might have been a freak thing, but either way, we will definitely come back here the next time we're in South Florida.

My girlfriend and I ate here tonight and if I could give more stars , I would!! We shared 7 of their tapas plates and were blown away by every single dish!!a couple of our highlights were the tuna avocado spring roll with watermelon/mango salsa, short rib stuffed shells with Gorgonzola cream sauce, the guac, duck tacos.. basically everything we ate!!We were making plans to return as we tried to finish every last bite of what we already had but looking forward to trying the rest of the menu!! That being said .. Our server Cat was over the top helpful, informative and had an amazing love for where she works .. Makes a difference!! Well done Chef Julien and Brian!!

Very expensive for what you get. I opted for a pasta dish from their "Large Plate" menu section. You would think that a pasta dish would usually be a bit larger. I was very wrong. I could have accepted the size if I ordered this as a starter. Spent $20 on lunch and I have to now go get some pizza as I am still starving. I don't think this place will see me again.

Best place in town! I am a local and this is exactly what West Palm needed. Duck tacos and lamb sliders are definite must haves! Had a few other small plates and everything was excellent! Staff and service was on point and love the ambience!! I will definitely be a regular! Highly recommended.

This is a tale of two restaurants. This is my fourth time at this restaurant. The tapas selections were wonderfully prepared and very tasty. The grilled scallops and quinoa cakes were excellent, the lamb sliders and guacamole are some of the best I have ever had. This is were it ended. My meal (Rack of wild boar) was almost inedible. It arrived at the table raw, after sending it back to be cooked it came back out and was still inedible. Very sad, to make things worse the restaurant was so cold that I couldn't wait to leave. If you go remember to bring a jacket, we asked three times to turn down the a/c but to no avail,

My Road Trips For Food (RTFF) to Avocado Grill in November was terrific. Today I met two of my blogging friends to try the brunch menu and we sat at the bar. Chris, the bartender, was fabulous as was Bryan the manager. The dishes we ordered were delicious, not one complaint and not one morsel left. I was thrilled to taste the Nutella Avocado Mousse, which on my RTFF was thought to be a tad gimmicky, was delicious. The avocado is not the predominant taste and the espresso whipped cream and hazelnuts really made the dessert stand out. I can't wait to go back, again!

The menu is quite inspired and there is a lot I'd like to try there. The hostess was very friendly and we were seated immediately. We sat outside and quite enjoyed the music from the Sunfest. The drink menu is not too exciting. We just had a couple of beers. The service was far from good. Honestly it was so bad that I was just amused. I have worked as a server and so have a lot of patience with people who work hard, trying jobs. Our server's answer to every question was, 'I don't know!' He didn't even offer to go and find out answers from someone else! After a point I just gave up on trying to be nice. Anyway, we order the Avocado wedges that were interesting. It would have been much nicer with some more watermelon. We ordered some oysters and those were incredible and fresh. My husband got the octopus that was very nice. I got the seared scallops that were not bad. I may visit again, but the service needs some help!

Ate here with a large group this past Saurday and ordered a large number of tapas style plates. Overall the service was good considering how busy it was in the restaurant. When we did have a problem the manager stepped in to help out the waiter who seemed a bit overwhelmed by our number and the other tables he had to cover. There were highs and lows. The Paella with fish and mussels in a squid ink pasta was a definite low - it was just a black mess of mush. The grilled octopus was so-so - alittle tough. The hangar steak was good as was the avocado dips, tacos and grilled avocado. Is it buzz worthy - not really. It will be worth another try. Definitely noisey.

Great place. Great vibe. Great atmosphere. Tapas is a great way to experience food with friends. The only reason it is not receiving five stars is because the portions are too small and we as a group were not blown away by the food.

  • Jessica R.

Great menu, under-delivered on food and service. Everything came out in wrong order (which is annoying with tapas/ small plates) and even when food did come, nothing was great. Guacamole wasn't chunky, overly mushy. Octopus was tender, mushy as well. Squid ink paella was meh. Brussel sprouts were the best thing we ordered but even so they were overly oily and greasy. Very disappointed considering menu sounded so great. Atmosphere and decor I enjoyed! Definitely beautiful inside. If I were to come back I would order differently.

Best New Restaurant in Palm Beach??? I think not. After having been there a month ago and tasted the Seafood Risotto and loving it, we were excited to go back to try it again. On the first visit the risotto was perfect, cooked perfectly with pieces of butternut squash and lots of seafood mixed into the rice. This time, however, it came with a pile of rice with seafood, no butternut squash, and tons of broth poured over it. It turned into a seafood soup with rice floating in it. Not a risotto at all. I was confused by this and went to ask the chef/owner why it was so different. He was so annoyed that I would ask him a question and disturb him that he was out and out rude. He said that's the way we make it and have always made it, I'm very busy. Didi he think I just made it up about tasting it before??? Obviously, floating high on his new award and could care less. The other problem was with the waiter. He was frazzled, distracted and sweating so much that sweat was actually dripping off his face. We had to ask repeatedly just to get bread. We sat outside, on the side of the building which was perfect because the music inside and in front of the building was so loud that conversation of any kind would have been impossible. The Manager was the only person who seemed distressed over the rudeness of the chef and the fact that we were so disappointed with the food, service, and customer service. If you want a seafood risotto, go to Cafe L'Europe and order the lobster risotto, it's perfection.

Came here for dinner. The wait staff was super welcoming, attentive and suggested items off the menu that were delicious. Food was good, guacamole was the best! It's a little pricey for the proportions but, for the quality of the items we had, we felt was worth it.

I would've gave five stars not too thrilled about the wait staff had a rude experience otherwise place has wonderful ambiance .food is delicious it is tapas so buy at least three to four dishes per 2 people expect to spend 100 for 2 people to be full . Expensive for most wpbers but most tapas restaurants are typically. Waiters and waitresses are very kind and helpful ! Love the crab app

Very interesting menu and friendly service. Our waiter was helpful in guiding our selections in terms of quantity and house specialties. There is something on the menu for everyone - meat eaters, vegetarians, fish lovers and the adventurous eater. Stuffed zucchini flowers were amazing! Only criticism is that the "valet" parking advertised cost $15 the night we were there. We did find parking on the street and meters go off at 7. Highly recommend this restaurant for a fun dining experience.

I don't usually write reviews unless the place is really Outstanding! Avocado Grill was just that! I was visiting West Palm and found this place on yelp. From the moment we got there the service was spectacular. They had live music and though it was quite loud, we enjoyed it. The food was great! Highly recommend short ribs stuffed shells and also the tuna spring rolls. Will definitely stop by again when we are in the area!

What a nice surprise! Food was very fresh and presented in such a lovely way. We had the ginger guacamole and we couldn't get enough. Next up was the fried zucchini blossom which was a beautiful and light presentation that melted in your mouth paired with the tomato jelly. My friend had the oysters which took a little bit to come out but we were not in a rush. We also tried the lamb sliders which were heaven and this brussel sprout salad with cauliflower and butternut squash; I had never been so excited about a salad before. The service was friendly and excellent. I can not wait to go back!!!

Downhill spiral... Loved this place when it first opened, but it has quickly disappointed in every way. The food is mediocre at best... My $16 hamburger was awful. There are a couple of really good waiters, but I was not fortunate enough tonight to have one of them. The manager is a buffoon... Based on his inept attitude and approach, I would say that this place will meet the demise that others in this space have met. Goodnight Irene.

I took my son here when he was visiting from LA. Very cute atmosphere. Interesting and nice menu. My food was delicious. My son's burger was overcooked, and he sent it back. The waitress was awesome, took care of it right away!! She sent the manager over, who was extremely charming and attentive. Great attention to detail. I would want staff like this working for me. You can tell they really care about this place and the food. The owner should be thrilled to have a staff like this, they were stand outs, From the hostess who seated us, the waitress, the bartender, and the manager. We will be back, and often. West Palm Beach needs terrific places like this. I was a restaurant owner in Los Angeles, so I know great food and great service. This place could hold it's own in any big city. Great place!

We had the good fortune of dining at Avocado Grill last night after reading all the positive reviews and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere is funky-charming, the service was excellent, and the food creative and delicious! Everything we ordered from avocado salmon roll to mushrooms with grits along with Japanese eggplant, and paella was flavorful and cooked to perfection. DESERT......HEAVEN...bread pudding and a chocolate-peanut butter-macadamean dish that was outstanding. All in all a lively lovely dining experience! I agree with Brooks F. about 5 stars.

Each dish we ordered had us "Mmm"ing and arguing that there isn't any way the next dish could top what we just ate, but it did! We struggled to decide which of each amazing dish was our favorite. Each time that we go back it's absolutely delicious and we still can't figure out which dish is our favorite, but it sure is fun trying to figure it out! Whether you want small bites or a large meal, they have a great selection. If you're in the mood for seafood they have an amazing sushi roll, their guacamole is a delicious snack that I tried not to make a meal of, and their brussels sprouts are one of my favorite side dishes. It's my new favorite go-to restaurant in West Palm Beach.

My husband and I were very impressed with Avocado Grill. All of the food tasted incredibly fresh and had great flavor! Our favorites were the ginger guacamole and lamb sliders. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that our speciality cocktails were just average.

Good food and ambience. Came here for dinner and brunch. Currently I think this is one of the better restaurants in WPB. You could tell the ingredients were fresh. The staff was very attentive and nice. The pork belly sliders were amazing and the squid ink paella was also very good. The crowd is slightly different on Sundays. I think the chef/owner strives for a European/Ibiza type of atmosphere which is very lively however a bit noisy during brunch time with lots of Rose flowing.

When they say small plates, they mean small! Hardly enough for two to taste. Some dishes were very good - short rib shells and mushroom fracases - and some were tasteless like the guac. Our server was such a low talker we couldn't hear her and it was very warm inside. I had high hopes but it didn't live up :((

A terrible experience. The octopus was rank bad - I thought I was going to puke while chewing the first bite. I should have known from the smell when it was first placed on the table. I cannot fathom how the chef-owner, who allegedly had a good reputation, would not only cook but allow bad, potentially ill inducing food to leave the kitchen. (What was the expediter doing or thinking?) At the same time we had the tuna tartar - but the smell and taste of the octopus stopped us from eating the rest of the tuna, which was presently nicely but bland. We should have picked up and gone but wanted to give this new place a second chance. Bad decision. My wife ordered the short rib stuffed shells and I the hangar steak w/chimichurri sauce and truffle parm fries. The short rib was was awesome until my wife started into the second shell whereupon she bit intlo a foreign object - a paper like thing about 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch. Well that ended that dish. And the waitress seemed to dismiss the object we showed her, although she appeared mortified that now there was a second, serious problem. The hangar steak was great - cooked a perfectly medium rare and the fries crispy and flavorful with truffle and topped with plenty of good parm cheese. A second round of two glasses of wine and the octopus were comped. Free dessert was offered , nice gesture but we declined. Service was very slow, drinks too slow to come out and at the wrong time. For e.g., I'd like to drink a nice cab sauv. when eating my steak, not afterwards. Even after the comps, it cost a $100. We will not return.
